User Experience Research Intern

Details: Conduct and assist with usability research for Lenovo’s eCommerce website, benchmarking, competitive analysis, surveys and interviews, analyzing and presenting findings to coworkers and executives to promote taking steps towards a more user-friendly website 

Student Library Employee

Employer: The School of Information and Library Science (SILS) Library

Dates: July 2015 - May 2019

Details: Planned and held events designed to connect the UNC community with the SILS library’s Pop-up and Juvenile collections, managed social media accounts (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest), created displays, provided reference assistance, and circulated and shelved materials.

Student Web Designer

Library Youth Partnership Coordinator

Employer: Durham County Libraries

Dates: August 2017 - November 2017

Details: Managed a group of teenagers (the Library Youth Partners) as they developed story-time programs for elementary school students and took them to perform these story-times at after-school programs in the community twice a week. Our story-times often tied to educational STEAM activities.

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Employer: The School of Information and Library Science

Dates: August 2016 - March 2017

Details: I helped Dr. Barbara Moran prepare the latest edition of her textbook on management in library settings by researching related topics, helping prepare a literature review, and providing feedback from a student's perspective.

Library Assistant II / Library Assistant Substitute

Employer: Alamance County Public Libraries

Dates: July 2013 - January 2015

Details: Duties included: check items in and out, lock and unlock DVD cases, pull hold items, notify patrons of their arrival, write up, and place on holds shelf, shelf read, weed, and straighten shelves, provide service to patrons, answer reference questions, help patrons with computer, fax machine, printer, copier, and scanner, make cards for new patrons, assist with events, this also includes preparation and set up/take down, help with displays and bulletin boards, assist patrons in the children’s area, and other duties as needed

Best Women Empowerment Hack

Awarded By: Rewriting the Code

Date: February 2019

Details: This award is presented to a team whose project at Pearl Hacks (an all-female and non-binary hackathon) is deemed to be most central to women empowerment. Our team created a prototype of an app called Tinklr that helps trans and non-binary people find safe and convenient restrooms.
